Built on two main islands with a group of smaller islands, at the mouth of one of the world's great rivers, Richmond offers a unique ecological setting for enjoyment and exploration. The Steveston Greenways link public park space with the waterfront, industrial, commercial, and historical points of interest found in and around the historic fishing village. Rich natural, agricultural, and industrial environments have evolved here where the Fraser River meets the Pacific Ocean. Access to and around many interesting Richmond sights is provided by a series of perimeter dyke trails and interconnecting routes.
