Description 5 miles southwest of Trout Lake. State Route 14 to Highway 141 north to USFS Road 24 Elevation: 2,760 ft 30 spaces. Trails: 1.) 24 / To Surprise Lakes 2.) 60 / To Crest Horse Camp 3.) 6020. Trail system 154 miles (snowmobile), 16 kilometers signed but ungroomed (ski). Also used by non-motorized recreationists, shelter with wood stove, sanitary facilities along trails, scenic view point. Sno-Park Permit required during the season. Exception: From April 1 to 30, a Sno-Park Permit may or may not be required. Snowmobiling is one of the state's most popular winter activities. More than 3,000 miles of groomed trails are provided through the Winter Recreation Program, in cooperation with federal, county and local agencies, ski areas, snowmobile clubs and private landowners.
