Description Aldergrove Lake Regional Park is located on the border of Aldergrove and Langley and just a short distance from the US Border. The park is very popular with families for its easy trails, scenic landscape, and multiple picnic areas. The area also has a number of horse trails and the wide open section of Aldergrove Bowl is popular with horseback riders. The "historic" lake in the park was formerly located on the west side but had to be removed due to needing major repairs. The lake was actually a man-made cement pool but was filled in and is now a grassy picnic area. The southern boundary of this park is the Canada/USA border. Located five minutes from the Aldergrove border crossing, first-time visitors are advised to drive to the main park entrance on 8th Avenue just east of 272nd Street. Continue down the park entrance road until you cross Pepin Brook and turn right to find the main information kiosk beside the lake washroom building. The swimming facility at Aldergrove Regional Park closed permanently in early 2011 and has been decomissioned. It's now a lovely picnic site with a small sandy play area, trails, and washroom. Future recreational use of the site will be considered in the park management planning process, currently underway. You will have the opportunity to share your ideas for the park during the development of the plan. The second Open House inviting public involvement will be held in spring 2012 (stay tuned - date TBA!). Aldergrove Lake Regional Park contains the Rock ‘n Horse Trail, a shared trail open to equestrians, cyclists and pedestrians. A Trail Users Courtesy Code is posted on the kiosk at the cycling trailhead. One of several projects supported by the Pacific Parklands Foundation includes the restoration of Aldergrove Bowl, which has been converted from a mined-out gravel pit to a recreational area including a marshy pond for waterfowl, new hiking trails, and picnic area.” 530 m long, 2 m wide, less than 5% slope, with a firm surface.
